Transgraphisms

This work of two performances took place on consecutive days as part of the Poush! Open Studio Days programme.

I had invited the artist David Bartholomeo to work together for this occasion, based on a protocol he had developed : the transcription of sounds into pictorial gestures, with Olivier Cans providing the sound. It was a work of echoes, with eyes closed.

While I'm used to personal challenges in performance, this was the first time I'd embarked on a public performance directly involving other artists.

At the end of each performance, as I opened my eyes, I see how the drawings bear witness to the dance of our bodies and hands which have transcribed something beyond the visible, and I am shocked by the fierce beauty, the energy, and the harmonies.
